Light therapy (LED therapy, phototherapy) applies light of a specific wavelength without heat or trauma. Red light stimulates fibroblasts and healing, blue kills Cutibacterium acnes, green evens out tone and works on pigment, yellow reduces redness. The treatment is completely painless and suits even very sensitive skin.
Indications: acne and post-acne, couperose and redness, dull uneven tone, dehydration, age-related changes, skin recovery after peels, lasers and injections.
Contraindications: photodermatoses and photosensitivity, photosensitising medication, epilepsy, oncological disease, pregnancy (subject to medical advice), retinal disease.
A consultation before the course is mandatory: the specialist takes the medical history and rules out conditions in which the treatment is not allowed.
A course is 10–15 sessions 2–3 times a week, 15–30 minutes each. Maintenance: 1–2 sessions a month.
For acne, a clear reduction in inflammation appears after 3–4 sessions. The lifting effect and even tone build gradually and are most visible at the end of the course.
Look at the number of colours (at least 4–7), the flux density and LED count — they determine real efficacy — the panel shape (mask or a petal console covering face and décolleté), and the LED lifespan: quality panels run for tens of thousands of hours without replacement.
