Ultrasonic cavitation destroys fat cells non-invasively with low-frequency ultrasound (around 40 kHz). Microbubbles form in the interstitial fluid, collapse and rupture adipocyte membranes; the released fat is cleared through the lymphatic system and the liver. The method is called “ultrasonic liposuction” because it removes localised deposits without incisions or anaesthesia.
