Protective eyewear is mandatory equipment in any room with a laser, an IPL system, a photoepilator or a high-power LED panel. It blocks radiation across the device’s working range while leaving enough visibility to work. Operating without eyewear is not only a risk to eyesight but also a breach of occupational safety rules that matters during inspections and insurance claims.
Match on three parameters: your device’s wavelength range, optical density (OD 5+ for aesthetic lasers) and fit. The eyewear must sit tightly with no side gaps and must not slip when the operator leans over the couch. Clients are more comfortable in lightweight closed models or eye-cup goggles. If your room has several devices with different wavelengths, buy a separate set for each and label them so they do not get mixed up.
Yes. BEAUTY LUX protective eyewear complies with EN 207 and carries a marking with the wavelength range and optical density — for example “OD 5+ @ 800–1100 nm”. OD (optical density) shows how strongly the filter attenuates the beam: OD 5 means 100,000 times. For aesthetic devices the working minimum is OD 5+ across your laser’s range. The marking is printed on the frame or lens itself, so it can always be checked before a treatment.
Clean the lenses with a soft cloth and a neutral cleaner or an optical wipe — abrasives and strong alcohol destroy the filter coating. Disinfect the frame only with agents approved by the manufacturer. Store the eyewear in its case, not in a drawer with tools. Replace it immediately if the lens shows scratches, chips, clouding or burnt spots, or if the marking has worn off: without it you cannot prove the protection level. In an intensive practice the set is usually replaced every 1–2 years.
