HIFU (SMAS lifting) uses high-intensity focused ultrasound. The beam passes through the surface layers without damaging them and creates coagulation points at 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 mm — including the SMAS muscular-aponeurotic layer that used to be a surgeon’s territory. The tissue contracts and the contour lifts, which is why HIFU is called a non-surgical alternative to a facelift.
Indications: sagging contour and jowls, double chin, hooded upper eyelid, neck wrinkles, lax décolleté skin, unwillingness or inability to undergo plastic surgery.
