Facial cryotherapy applies cold (from +5 down to −15 °C depending on the device). Sharp vasoconstriction is followed by vasodilation, so microcirculation in the tissue rises steeply: swelling subsides, pores tighten, tone improves. Cold also numbs and reduces redness, which is why cryo is often used as the final step after laser, RF or a deep cleanse.
Indications: puffiness and oedema, enlarged pores, oily skin and acne, redness and irritation, loss of tone, finishing traumatic treatments, express freshness before an event.
Contraindications: cold urticaria and cryoglobulinaemia, Raynaud’s disease, severe couperose in the acute phase, impaired skin sensitivity, oncological disease, pregnancy (subject to medical advice).
