Laser lipolysis (lipo laser) is non-invasive body contouring with a low-level laser at 650–980 nm. The light reaches the subcutaneous fat and temporarily increases the permeability of adipocyte membranes: the cell releases its content into the interstitial space, from where the lymphatic system carries it away. The fat cell is not destroyed but emptied, which makes the treatment one of the safest in contouring.
Indications: localised fat on the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms and back, cellulite, saddlebags, contour correction after weight loss, and areas where more aggressive methods are contraindicated.
Contraindications: pregnancy and breastfeeding, oncological disease, severe liver and kidney disease, uncontrolled diabetes, epilepsy, photodermatoses, photosensitising medication, acute inflammation.
A consultation before the course is mandatory: the specialist takes the medical history and rules out conditions in which the treatment is not allowed.
A course is 8–12 sessions 2–3 times a week, 20–40 minutes each. Lymphatic drainage and physical activity immediately after the session are mandatory — otherwise the fat returns to the cells.
